1.1 This website is owned and operated by Fancy Dress Trading Ltd, (trading as Fancydressshack.co.uk) registered in England and Wales 7051492 at our registered office: 3rd Floor, 14 Hanover Street, London W1S 1YH.

2. Ordering Goods

2.1 When you place an order with fancydressshack.co.uk, you are making an offer to buy goods.

2.2 We will send you an e-mail to confirm we are processing your order but this does not mean we have accepted it.

2.3 In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or we have made a pricing mistake on the goods or the delivery cost, we will contact you with the correct details.  You may then cancel your order or re-confirm it based on the correct information.  If we are unable to contact you within 5 days of you placing you order, we will cancel the order.

2.4 If the goods are not available, we may contact you to offer to supply you with alternative goods.  These goods will never be despatched to you without informing you and gaining your agreement to accept the substituted goods.

2.5 Your order will be accepted by us, and a contract will then be formed between us when we despatch the goods to you.


3. Payment

3.1 All prices shown on our website are inclusive of V.A.T.

3.2 Payment for the goods and delivery can be made by any method shown on our website at the time you place your order.  

3.3 Your order will be despatched for delivery only when payment has been made and the funds are cleared.

3.4 All payment are made through third party payment transaction companies, we therefore do not have any access to your financial or bank details.


4. Delivery

4.1 Delivery charges will depend on the weight and dimensions of the goods you order, and the location of the delivery address.  Some products may incur an additional surcharge and this is clearly shown in the product description.

4.2 Some outer regions of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and off shore islands will incur increased delivery costs. The postcodes of these areas are clearly shown on our Delivery and Postage Price page on our website.

4.3  Next day delivery is available to mainland UK only and for orders placed before 3 pm.

4.4 The goods will be delivered to the address you give when you place your order.

4.5  When our courier delivers your goods you will be asked to sign for the goods to acknowledge that you have received them.

4.6 Orders placed before 3 pm on a working day will be processed that day and will be delivered in line with the delivery option you selected, provided your payment has cleared and all goods you ordered are available.

4.7 If your delivery fails to be made on two attempts, your order will be returned to us and if you wish us to redeliver the order you will incur cost of the delivery charge again.

4.8 We make every effort to ensure we deliver the goods as soon as possible after your order has been accepted.  In the event of a delay we will contact you as soon as possible.


5. Returns and cancellation

5.1 In line with the Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order up to 7 working days after you receive the goods. In the interests of providing good customer service, we have extended the period you can return unwanted goods to us to 14 days (10 working days). If you wish to do this you must inform us in writing via letter, fax or e-mail – we are unable to accept cancellations by phone.

5.2 You will be responsible for returning the goods to us at your own expense.

5.3 Please ensure you include a returns form (found on the Returns page of our website) so we can action your return quickly.

5.4 If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us on our Customer Service telephone number on our Contact page of the website.

5.5 If item(s) returned to us have evidently been worn, or if costume packaging has been heavily damaged and the item cannot be restocked for sale we will not be able to process your refund, and the item will be returned to you.

5.6 If you decide to cancel you order after the goods have been delivered to you, you will be responsible for returning the goods to us at your own expense.    You must ensure that the goods are adequately packaged to protect against damaged and are still in a saleable condition. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us resulting in any damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

5.7  There are some products that must not be worn or used when you return them to us. Please see our returns policy for a list of these items.

5.8 If you fail to return the goods we may decide to collect them and we will charge you the direct cost of the collection.

5.9 This returns policy does not affect your legal rights


6. Privacy Policy

We will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the details of your order are secure, but unless we are negligent we will not be liable for any unauthorised access to information supplied by you.

7.  Photo Competition Terms and Conditions:

 Participants must submit their fancy dress photographs by either posting their photograph onto Fancy Dress Shack's Facebook wall or emailing their photo to          

Fancy Dress Shack reserves the right to refuse any photo submission for any reason which is at Fancy Dress Shack’s absolute discretion. Fancy Dress Shack’s independent judging panel will select the photo that is deemed to be the most creative and most deserving to win the monthly prize.   The decisions of the Judges are final. Discussion or written communication will not be entered into concerning the final decision.

Fancy Dress Shack reserves the right to disqualify any photo submission, if it appears the participant has breached any of these terms and conditions. Fancy Dress Shack is not under any obligation to include participants’ entries in the Competition

The Participant must submit their own original photograph taken during the previous month and have proof of purchase that the costume has been purchased via the Fancy Dress Shack website.  The Participant agrees and confirms that this will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party. Fancy Dress Shack will not accept any responsibility for the misuse of intellectual property rights.  Entry to the Competition by Participants is done at his/her own risk.

By entering the Fancy Dress Shack’s Photo Competition participants have accepted and agreed to these rules.

Residents of England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands may participate in this competition. The following parties are excluded from entering this competition: employees of Fancy Dress Shack, their immediate families, agents or anyone else who might be professionally connected with the promotion.

To obtain the winner's name, email requesting photo competition winner and the month.

The Prize:  The monthly  prize is awarded to the winning entry as decided by Fancy Dress Shack's independent panel of judges.  The participants order from the previous month  will be verified and the winning entry will be refunded the cost of their costume, excluding the postage costs that they have paid.  The refund will be made back onto the winning entrants original method of payment (credit card or paypal)  The amount refunded will only be applied to one single costume ordered within the total transaction.  This prize is non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered. To collect your prize, an order must be placed by telephoning customer service on 0845 519 1150.

Rights of Use:

You irrevocably and unconditionally grant to Fancy Dress Shack, (and those authorised by them) all necessary rights and consents for the full period of copyright to use any photo you submit for any purposes connected with the Competition including without limitation the ability for Fancy Dress Shack to digitize, encode, publish and transmit the photo on web sites owned or controlled by it or by any third party technical provider in respect of the Competition and otherwise in any way in any media (including promotional material, associated services, and any other ancillary use) and in any part of the world through any medium now known or hereinafter invented.

Fancy Dress Shack reserves the right to use the Participant’s photos to market the Competition or showcase the work of Fancy Dress Shack. Such right to use is royalty-free and no payment is, or shall be, due to you. For the avoidance of doubt the rights granted under this paragraph shall include the right to use the photos of the Winner on websites controlled by Fancy Dress Shack for promotional purposes after the Competition.

You grant to Fancy Dress Shack the non-exclusive right to syndicate to third party websites or services. You permit Fancy Dress Shack or its third party agents to edit or change the photo in any way that it deems necessary in its sole discretion for the purpose of the Competition. Any material created by or on behalf of Fancy Dress Shack utilizing your photo or any component therein is and shall remain the property of Fancy Dress Shack, but for clarity you retain ownership of your photo. Your moral rights will be respected; you will be credited if your photograph is published.

Appropriate Content

Please submit your photos in either of the following formats JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF. Submission of your photo means you agree and confirm that it does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party. If you include anyone else’s material in your photo you must have obtained their permission to do so. If you don’t, you will be infringing the copyright in the material. This includes material downloaded or copied from a website. Do not include anything that is pornographic, obscene, indecent, harassing, threatening or offensive. Ensure the photo is sent in high resolution. Fancy Dress Shack reserves the right to edit any photo. You must obtain the consent of others in your photo before submitting the photo to Fancy Dress Shack. Do not include personal contact details, or where you work or live or anyone else’s personal contact details in your photograph. Your photo must not feature a trademark or logo predominantly or at all.

Please ensure you do not photograph anything confidential, covertly photograph anyone or infringe anyone’s right to privacy. Ensure you have obtained all the necessary consents and/or licences before you submit the photo and it is used in the Fancy Dress Shack Photo Competition. Your photo must not feature celebrities or public figures unless you sought their permission or if indeed you are the celebrity or public figure. Your photo(s) must not contain viruses, Trojans or other harmful elements. Participation in the photo is at your own risk.
